Tax rate alerts · Free
Know before your rates are set.
Your value is only half of your tax bill. Every year your city, county, school district and other taxing units propose their tax rates, hold public hearings and then adopt them. Most owners never hear about it until the bill arrives.
Sign up and Julie will email you as the units for your property move through each step.

Disclosures
The fine print, in plain words.
- Free, with no obligation
- Rate alerts cost nothing. Signing up does not hire Sentinel Property Tax Advisors, does not appoint Sentinel as your property tax agent, and does not file a protest for you. Representation begins only if you sign an agreement and an Appointment of Agent for Property Tax Matters (Form 50-162).
- Information only, not legal or tax advice
- Alerts summarize public notices to help you stay informed. They are not legal, tax or financial advice. Bill figures are estimates and may not match your actual tax statement, which also depends on your value, exemptions and any ceilings or limitations.
- Where the information comes from
- Rates and hearing details come from public notices posted by your taxing units and from your county's property tax database (the Truth-in-Taxation website). Julie reviews alerts before they go out, but notices can change or be posted late, and errors are possible. The official notices and your tax assessor-collector are the final word. You can check them yourself at the Texas Comptroller's Truth-in-Taxation page.
- Not affiliated with any government office
- Sentinel Property Tax Advisors is a private business. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for any appraisal district, appraisal review board, taxing unit, tax assessor-collector or the Texas Comptroller.
- Coverage and timing
- Alerts are sent only for properties we can match to their taxing units. Some counties don't publish rates in a form we can track automatically; if yours is one, we'll tell you when you sign up. Most taxing units propose and adopt rates between August and October, so expect a few emails a year, mostly in that window. We don't guarantee that every notice will be caught or sent in time to act on.
- Your information is not sold
- We use your name, email, property address, county and account number only to send these alerts and to answer you if you write back. Anything more, such as an occasional property tax update from Julie, is sent only if you say yes using the separate link in your confirmation email. We never sell, rent or trade your information, and we don't share it for advertising. Details are in our privacy notice.
- Stopping alerts
- You can opt out at any time, at no cost: use the link at the bottom of any alert, the form on this page, reply to any alert, or call. Opt-outs take effect right away for every property under your email address, and also stop any occasional updates you agreed to.
